Studies have shown that temperature plays a critical role in rice growth and yield. According to Kihara et al. (2018), optimal temperatures for rice cultivation range between 20°C and 30°C. Deviations from this range can lead to reduced germination rates and increased susceptibility to pests and diseases. In Eha-Amufu, local temperature variations can affect planting schedules and ultimately impact productivity.

The research hypothesis is buttressed below:

Ho: Temperature and Wind speed have no significant effect on rice production in the study area

It involves various agricultural practices, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting. Factors influencing rice production include soil quality, water availability, and climatic conditions. Efficient rice production is essential for food security and economic stability in many countries, particularly in Asia and parts of Africa.

Temperature: Temperature is a measure of how hot or cold an environment is and is typically expressed in degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). In agriculture, temperature significantly affects plant growth and development, influencing processes such as germination, flowering, and maturation. For rice, optimal temperature ranges are crucial for achieving high yields, as both excessively high and low temperatures can adversely impact growth.
