For the MCN, canonical obedience provides a structure that enables the Church to maintain its theological coherence, preserve its traditions, and ensure a unified approach to its ministry and mission. This is particularly crucial in the face of challenges such as doctrinal diversity, social changes, and the tension between modernity and traditional values.

In exploring the role of canonical obedience in the growth of the Methodist Church Nigeria, we must first consider the historical roots of the Church and its doctrinal foundations. 1.2 statement Of the Problem
