CONSERVATION OF CONCRETE SCULPTURE

Concrete sculpture conservation is the practise of keeping concrete works in good condition for as long as possible. Weathering, pollution, and physical degradation are among ways in which concrete sculptures may lose their original beauty and stability over time. The goal of preservation work on concrete sculptures is to reduce or stop these deterioration processes.

Several methods and procedures are used to efficiently maintain concrete sculptures. Maintenance and cleaning on a regular basis is a standard practise. Cleaning the sculpture entails sweeping away the dust and debris that has settled on its surface. Brushing, low-pressure water washing, and the use of chemical cleaners made especially for concrete are all safe and effective methods of cleaning concrete.

Selecting and installing in an appropriate location lessens the likelihood of damage from factors including humidity, temperature, and corrosion. To further safeguard the sculpture from environmental damage, a protective coating or sealer might be placed to its outside.
