LATEST UPDATE ABOUT THE 20 TOP RANKING UNIVERSITIES IN UGANDA
Public and private higher education institutions abound in Uganda. Makerere institution, Uganda’s oldest and largest public institution, was established in 1922. It has a reputation for excellence in the fields of agriculture, engineering, and the social sciences, and it is conveniently located in Kampala, the country’s capital.
In addition to Kyambogo University and Gulu University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology is another excellent public institution of higher education in Uganda. Among Uganda’s many private institutions are Kampala International University, Ndejje University, and Uganda Christian University.
Uganda’s National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) sets and enforces quality assurance guidelines for the country’s higher education institutions. The National Commission for Higher Education’s (NCHE) job is to make sure colleges and universities are up to par with regards to their curriculum, faculty, and infrastructure. To guarantee that they are maintaining these high standards, universities in Uganda must go through periodic accreditation evaluations.
