INTRODUCTION

Distance education has become particularly important in developing countries where access to conventional higher education institutions is limited due to population growth, limited infrastructure, and socio-economic constraints (Moore & Kearsley, 2012).
Distance education refers to a mode of learning in which teaching and learning occur when instructors and students are separated by time and space, and communication is facilitated through various technological platforms. Over the years, distance education has evolved from correspondence courses delivered through postal services to modern digital learning environments supported by the internet and mobile technologies. This study aims to address this gap by examining the utilization of mobile learning technologies among students of the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja.

The main objective of this study is to examine the utilization of mobile learning technologies for effective distance education delivery at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja.
The specific objectives are to:
